How do I use the BabyNera?

STEP 1: Prepare the Device

  • Insert 2 x AA batteries into the BabyNera doppler.
  • Connect the probe wire securely to the main device.
  • Lie down comfortably on a flat surface, facing upward.
  • Expose your lower belly, as you would during a regular ultrasound.
  • Tip: Having a full bladder can sometimes help amplify the heartbeat.

STEP 2: Apply Gel & Power On

  • Switch on the device using the power button.
  • Apply a generous amount of ultrasound gel to reduce static and improve sound clarity.
  • Gently place the probe on your lower abdomen and begin moving it slowly to locate the heartbeat.

STEP 3: Locate the Heartbeat

  • Start just above the pubic bone and move the probe slowly upward.
  • Rock or glide the probe gently, covering different angles until you find the heartbeat.
  • If no heartbeat is found, don’t worry—try again later or wait for the baby’s position to change.
  • Once found: view the BPM (beats per minute) on the display.

Make sure it is clean, dry, not stretched, and properly inserted. A worn or loose valve can reduce suction.

3. Inspect the Anti-Spill Membrane

It must be seated correctly and completely dry. Improper placement may affect pressure.

4. Ensure an Air-Tight Seal

Wear a snug bra and ensure the flange sits flush against the breast. Air leakage will weaken suction.
