You may not find baby's heart beat using this device every time, but as long as you understand that and know if you need to get checked professionally to make sure, it's a good tool. I.e. try and find baby's heart beat, if you can only find th pulse of your placenta and you have been concerned (low movement etc) go and get checked anyway, if you aren't worried about low movement, go and do something else for a bit and try again.
